Case Study: Faraj’s Story

Faraj is a 21 year old Sudanese national with refugee status in UK and receives support under the Young People’s Service.

He was referred to us after having lived in supported lodgings and wanted to move to Durham to have his own tenancy, enabling him to concentrate on his studies, as he was enrolled at college and had an ambition to pursue a career in medicine.

He has managed his tenancy and independent living well, as well as getting excellent exam results last month (including a few distinctions) and has his place at Bristol University confirmed to study Radiography. He is currently on placement at James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough which he is enjoying and has spoken about plans to do his Masters after he finishes his degree.
